Repairing farm yards around everyday movements

H. Evans Road Contractors Ltd repairs damaged tarmac in farm yards, including vehicle routes and areas around buildings. We assess the condition and daily use of the yard before providing a written quotation.

A farm yard may contain several different working areas: access to buildings, vehicle turning space and routes used for deliveries. Damage can develop unevenly across these areas, so the repair scope should reflect the actual condition rather than assume the whole yard needs the same work.

We discuss how the yard operates and assess the affected tarmac during a site visit. Explain where vehicles travel and which buildings need uninterrupted access. Isolated patches and more extensive deterioration can then be considered separately, with the proposed work set out clearly in a written quotation.

Suitable for

  • Farm yards
  • Farm building access
  • Delivery and turning areas

What we assess and repair

  • Routes through the yard

Regular vehicle movements can concentrate wear in particular places. Point out the routes used by machinery and deliveries, including any damaged turning areas.

  • Surfaces beside farm buildings

Flag broken tarmac around entrances and any uneven joins to adjoining surfaces. The assessment needs to consider how vehicles approach and use those areas.

  • Multiple repairs and wider surfacing

Several worn patches may be addressed as defined repairs, or the yard may need a broader surfacing discussion. The condition found on site determines the proposed approach.

Arranging work around a working farm

Tell us which buildings and yard routes are essential, when deliveries are expected and whether alternative access is possible. We aim to minimise disruption, but restrictions during repairs must be agreed with the site contact. Mention machinery use when discussing when the surface can return to service.

Risk Assessments and Method Statements supplied before work starts.

What to send with your enquiry

Include photographs of the damaged tarmac and the wider yard, approximate areas and the types of vehicles using them. Note water collection, previous patch repairs and essential building access. Explain if the adjoining farm road also needs assessment.

You can attach up to five site photos when requesting your free quotation.
