Road Markings

Road markings across Birmingham and the Midlands
H. Evans Road Contractors Ltd provides road markings for roads and site access routes. We discuss existing lines, intended traffic flow and the condition of the surface before providing a written quotation.
Road markings communicate how drivers should move through a route. Worn or unclear lines can make an existing layout harder to understand, particularly around entrances and changes of direction. The proposed markings need to reflect the actual route and the responsibilities of whoever manages it.
Our road marking service covers the assessment and discussion of lines and directional markings. Tell us whether you need an existing arrangement refreshed or markings for a newly surfaced road. For public roads, the applicable requirements and approvals must be identified; a private-site layout should not be treated as automatically suitable for public highway use.
Suitable for
- Roads
- Site access routes
- Retail parks

Planning your markings
Refreshing existing road lines
Photographs of the current lines help explain what needs attention. Confirm whether the arrangement is to be retained and provide any specifications that govern the work.
Directional markings
The position and purpose of directional markings should be agreed before application. Explain how vehicles enter, exit and use the route so the proposed scope is clear.
Surface and application area
Condition, cleanliness and recent surfacing affect marking work. Tell us about damaged patches or resurfacing plans so the sequence and scope can be discussed.
Confirming specifications and access
Provide the responsible site or road contact, any required layout or specification and information about permissions. Agree which routes need to be kept clear during application and how traffic will be managed. Timing and reopening depend on the particular surface and work arrangements.
Risk Assessments and Method Statements supplied before work starts.
What to send with your enquiry
Include the road location, photos, the approximate length or extent of lines and any existing plan. Explain whether the route is public or private and whether the work is renewal or a new layout. Send available specifications and information about access restrictions.
You can attach up to five site photos when requesting your free quotation.
